So, I took part in AIR San Antonio today. It’s a rally/competition in which small teams pair up with NPOs to build accessible websites entirely in one 8-hour session. Byron McCollum and I built a website for “Footballers For Peace”. Byron kicks ass and totally saved us with his mad HTML/CSS and uber editing skillz.
We’ll have some work to do on the site once judging is finished. The organization requested a few features that just couldn’t be had in 8 hours, and the CMS was hacked to death so we could finish on time with everything validating and accessible and looking decent.
Truthfully, I didn’t know what I was in for, and it turned out to be one ZOMG flustering day. But it was a lot of fun, and hopefully I’ll be able to do it again sometime.
